My two cents - packaging video

Hi Linus,

Love your channel, it's a lot more in depth than a lot on youtube.

On each unboxing video you do, you tend to criticise whether or not each thing you unbox came in good or bad packaging. You tend to lean more away from 'brittle' and hard foam, and more towards soft. You do the same with cardboards.

So I just had the best thought - how about you go down to NCIX, grab a few examples of each packaging material they use, and discuss the ups and downs of each in a video. I think it would be great for not only us for watch, but also other small businesses who watch youtube. It might make them realise what other packaging solutions there are out there, and help them care for thier products a bit more.

Hopefully this makes it to the big screen,

It's funny cause it seems every video I've watched involved hard foam and Linus mentioning how it's not that great so I've only really been left to assume that by default soft foam is the real deal.

Generally the retailers don't use foam to pack things because, imagine a foam shape for every single order...

Generally it's just a box that fits everything plus a load of bubble wrap to pad it out, or a jiffy bag if the item is small.

Doing a review on the available bubble wrap is a bit silly don't you think? :P

I think it wasn't quite explained clearly in the OP. My interpretation was that Kyle referred to the foam that manufacturers use in their products that are sold in a retail environment.

Maybe doing a test like with the ax1200i/1500i, where you throw them or attempt to damage them in some way would be good to test the durability of different types of packaging.
