Heaven Society - Week 8 (Ghost in the Shell: SAC)

Fred Castellum

I think you would need a database at that point, which reminds me I really need to do something like that for those HDDs.

Time for a large server build? :P

No I dont need immediate access to this stuff as I can just pop the drives into a hotswap bay or dock. I just need something to search to tell me which drive to grab. I do need more storage in my server though. :(

Hmm.... time for a upgrade then?

Do you have back-ups for all that or is your collection as is?

Yes I need an upgrade but I cheaped out and only got a 9260-4i instead of the 8i I knew i really needed.

Na but thats no biggie its not like I couldnt re get most of it as needed. Plus most of it is supposed to be source than anything.

and people say I have lots of storage and that I'm crazy when I say I don't have a fraction of what I want because my storage is so limited....

anyway, try making a spreadsheet on drive, go through your HDD's and archive whatever is on which drive, you don't have to instantly do it, just start the next time you pop one of them in and start adding some, sooner or later the archive will have grown to a state of semi-completion.

You would think since you numbered the drives that you would keep a record of what is on them or else it kind of defeats the point

I think he just numbered them so he doesn't pop the same one in twice, I'm the same way but trying to be a bit more organized >_<

Have you considered just ordering the box straight from monoprice?

Also that case isnt antistatic if I recall. This one is but its not where near as sturdy. http://goo.gl/AH3g9M I find it fine for storing HDDs at home. Its way better then having them randomly stacked on my shelf.

I keep mine in lego..

hey im working on it. I did have drive 00-07 organized but then stuff happened and its probably not exact so im just going to redo it. I also rename stuff and make everything into proper images to it takes some time when organizing a drive. i was going to do a ccess database but I think a excel spreadsheet would probably be plenty.

That too

I keep mine in lego..

that doesnt sound safe...

I'm not sure but i think you left subconscious clues. Your post was number six and you showed two cases so clearly it was a hint that the files were on drive twelve [/half-life 3 logic]
