My brother accidentally had his iPhone 5c in his pocket when he went swimming in the ocean for about 5min we put it in rice then I plugged it in for charging I vibrated but nothing else does anybody have any tips and tricks to get it working?

If something is wet, you DO NOT PLUG IT IN.

You plugged it in after knowing it had been in water? oh boy. you have more issues than that phone not working.

Hopefully, you didn't break anything.

 

Try Soaking it in rice for 24-72 hours (pull out the battery during this process if possible.

How do you know it was completely dry?

Did you open it to let the humidity evaporate?

That's with a 2 year contract. The actual price of the phone is closer to $600. Water damage typically voids warranty, unless you have AppleCare +. Pay $269 to get it fixed, or buy another phone from ebay/craigslist. Unless you want to drop $600 on a new one.

Get it repaired by apple and then buy him a lifeproof case.

If a device gets soaked, you're supposed to shut power off immediately, dry it in a bag of rice for 1-2 weeks and then attempt to turn it on. Pretty sure you killed the phone the second you plugged it in.
