Reasoning:

I went with the intel processor because it's generally more efficient for Adobe software. I choose the Core 1000 for its budget features. I went with the r9 270 because it was significantly better than the original GPU and best bang for buck at the moment. The motherboard could have been about 10 dollars cheaper but with this you get a lot more in comparison to something 10 dollars less. Everything else is fairly standard.

You should at least make a video with said teacher. This is the internet, give the people a reason to trust you. Anyone can write a block of text saying they'll cure cancer for $300. If you can prove the money will be going where you say it will go, you will get more donations.

Wait... Wait... Video-editing, music, and Photoshop? Shouldn't an i5 be used instead?

Here's a Xeon build, I don't even remember if Photoshop requires a GPU. You can take out the SSD and put it into something else or to stay under-budget, I guess.
