EC6 Coolant - needs biocide/kill coil ?

I just got a XSPC EC6 coolant for my water loop. I bought it in a hope that I won't be needing a biocide/kill coil which I will need if I use distilled water.

Can anyone make sure that I don't need those ? Is EC 6 good if I change the fluid every 6 months ? Will it gunk up my water blocks ?

If

You change the liquid every 6 months it

Will be fine, but why not have a kill coil anyway? They are dirt cheap.

They are cheap. But here in my country, the kill coil is nearly priced as the coolant and very hard to get it. I will order one from Ebay and have it shipped here. Much easier :P

You could also use a 1gram bar of silver :) it might be cheaper. But I doubt it, worth a try though

While no one can say with surety why some people experience problems with pre-mixed coolants and others don't, it would not kill you to have some kill coils or silver bullets in your loop.
