HAF912 vs. 200R vs. NZXT 210 vs. Antec 300

79wjd

Looking for a good cheap case that I can leave at college. As I go to college a plane ride away, I plan on dismantling and reassembling my pc when I bring it back and forth, and I plan on leaving one case there and one case here. At home I have a Corsair 350D as I plan on sticking with mATX (presumably) forever.

Now I just need a case to leave at college, that will more than likely get thrown out in three years--I may or may not try and get it home, but I'm not going to count on it. As such, I'm looking for a cheap case (any form factor) thats easy to build in and can house my GTX780.

Must have:

Plenty of cable management space behind the tray.

At least 10.5" of space for a gpu

One hdd + one ssd mount (important since I can remove drive cages to gain more gpu space)

So far I've got:

Cooler Master HAF 912 ($60)

Corsair 200R ($60)

Corsair Graphite Series 230T ($70)

NZXT Source 210 ($40)

Antec Three Hundred Illusion ($65)

If you plan on keeping the mATX format than the 350D is probably your best option, even though some will tell me that I'm wrong, but I had the chance to test it myself for 2 weeks, and it was perfect, small, great for water and air cooling, looks great, etc, although I had to borrow a friends mATX board haha.

I definitely can't see any reason to not stick with mATX. The only advantage that ATX really has anymore over mATX is that you can have SLI graphics and another PCI card, or SLI graphics with extra space between the cards, or three/four-way SLI. None of which I think will be an issue for me as I'm not going to do more than two-way SLI, and I can put two cards next to eachother without too much trouble anyway.

Nore that 912 and Carbide 200 don't have top air filters.

Top air filters aren't all that necessary....plus, I'll be taking the computer apart every May, bringing it home, rebuilding it, taking it apart at the end of August bringing it to college, and then rebuilding it. So, I don't think dust will be a big issue anyway.

Have built in the haf912, a 200r, a 300r, and my personal case the 350d. It was money well spent for me. The other cases, the clients didn't care about the looks.

I have a Aerocool DS Cube and it is silent and good looking case (with noctua nf f12) . if you unscrew the 5½ bay you can mount 2 thin 240mm radiators. Cable Management is easy but you cant mount a long psu. Yea i like the case but i dont know if others also love it. *Sorry for my bad english*

What would you say is the better case, HAF912 or 200R? (cable management/ ease of build-wise)

I would personally go with the 200R. It looks a bit classier. I like fully painted interiors. Both cases have good space in the back for nice cable management. The 912 has nice corners and screams look at me, while the 200R is plain and looks just like a regular computer case.

Well, the HAF doesn't have a window, so the interior doesn't really matter to me. I just don't like cable mess, so I'd value cable management ease above all else, and getting a definitive straight forward answer about space behind both mobo trays is quite hard.
