I was planing to buy a blue yeti in the future to improve the voice quality in my videos.

The problem is that I would like to be able to hear my game sounds through my 14.2 surround speakers instead of through a headset.

Would the audio be picked up by the microphone (creating an echo of game sounds)? Or does it have a noise cancellation feature to prevent it picking up game audio?

Thanks so much guys :)

It's not a mic meant for that so no.

It's extremely sensitive.

It's meant for podcasts / interviews / silent enviornment

Do you have any mic suggestions that would work in this type of environment? Something less than $200 if possible.

Would a directional mic help?

I think it will have the same effect.

OP grab a modmic instead. It's $50 plus around $6 for shipping.

Edit: You're in Canada. Shipping is around $12 I believe.

You may try a noise reduction software that is using a virtual audio device that cancells noise & echo regardless the physical mic that you are using.

This. No hardware is going to be able to block out all other sounds because it really requires some active processing. Some Laptops come with a setting like this and it usually works pretty well, but I dunno of any specific programs that do this .

I suggest, you try a program that is using a virtual audio device that captures the audio directly from the microphone and cleans it before sending it to your program. SoliCall Pro is an example for such a virtual audio device that performs both noise reduction and echo cancellation.

I don't like to mention programs that aren't free.

From what I remember, this software enables free usage. Once the evaluation period ends, you can reinstall to renew the evaluation period. There are few other software packages for removing noise but most of them work offline on audio recordings.

Not only are you using speakers, you're using a surround setup. That makes it difficult to fix the problems. If you had a 2.1 setup it would be much more doable with a simple mic adjustment.
