Go for a Core i5-4690K, better thermal paste mate :)

He is not asking about 4690K, he is asking about non-K. K version is not out yet.

 

Go with 4670K between those two.

Ivy Bridge and Haswell don't employ solder like Sandy Bridge did and as a result they run hotter (mainly because the thermal paste was shit) but with Devils Canyon they have applied better thermal paste between the CPU die and IHS. Have a look into Ivy Bridge and Haswell heat problems, you'll see what I mean. People have delidded and re-applied with good thermal paste and have seen major differences in temperature and OC'ing abilities.

But he is asking about the 4670K, no point recommending a 4670K when the 4690K is coming out very soon. If there was a spare brain cell spare then someone would recommend waiting for them to come into stock.

you can get either one , Overclocked version will give you tad bit improved perfomance , but not as it is hyped to be maybe 10-15 fps bump overall in gaming, Plus you need a custom cooler to get it to work at peak efficiency , the non-k version will provide you with more or less the perfomance from the other , if you're not an avid gamer or heavy heavy multi tasker.& encodes movies or video edits like crazy.

 

I'd suggest either one, whichever you feel like is good for you, don't bother with the "perfomance" as it's just a rather slight bump.

4670K mate, don't go with a locked i5 if prices are similar..

Well his choices already include the non K CPU, How would me recommending a 4690K confuse him into buying the 4690 and not the K version.

Because it has the same numbers and maybe doesn't understand what K means. You should've said wait for 4690K not 4690 :P

my guess is the OP found a good deal on the 4670K being the same price as the 4690 non K...making it the obvious choice...maybe i'm wrong..
