Hey guys! Im here to report something a little different than most news released here. Saurik, the man who invented cydia, Mobile Substrate, and Winterboard on the iPhone has now released Cydia Substrate and Winterboard for Android devices. This means that people will no longer need an iPhone in order to run and install tweaks very easily. No more putting custom roms, and going through all that trouble just to modify something simple on your Android device.

Considering the fact that it needs the user to root the device, I really can't see much of a use for it unless you really like the ROM you are on. The themes and tweaks that it offered on iOS, can pretty much all be found in the play store in one form or another in the various launchers, and the other reason for jail breaking, really I think is piracy, which fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it, can be done by side loading apps. If I'm missing something here, could someone fill me in on as to why this would be useful?

i would wondering this myself only idea i could come up with is that maybe if you had an obscure tablet that doesn't have enough popularity to merit making custom roms for you could then make some minor changes to the rom that way. that is if i am understanding this program right

I have to admit that I too don't see the point. I was under the impression that this was only good for trying to make iOS look and feel a bit more like Android.

I don't really play many games for gameplay anymore honestly. I play most games just for the graphics.

Interesting... sounds completely useless, but interesting in a weird way. Does it mean even the jailbreak community are tired of iOS? I do feel sorry for them, constantly fighting against Apple as they release updates for the sole purpose of blocking them out...
