Lockscreen bypass is nice.

How about a bypass for the Apple ID authentication lock that prevents you from even restoring a phone without having your Apple ID.

Cause that happened to me. And I spent 2 hours between phone and email support to get my account back just so I could use my goddamn iPad. That was not cool.

Wow that's pretty bad... I wonder whether Apple will release an update before iOS 8 comes out, or whether now they'll just be content to leave it. At least it only lets you access the last used app and can fairly easily be disabled, but still...

Well, it's not a complete bypass, as far as I understood it just lets you see the app that was open when the user swiched off the device.

See and use, which isn't so good. I will hopefully try it out on somebody tomorrow if I can find someone who is willing to let me use their iPhone to see exactly what can be done, especially if you leave it on the homescreen.

Just tried it, it definitely works. Problem is you have to have something open when you lock your phone. For me personally I always lock it from the home screen so, meh.

nvm., it worked in the message app, will try others too.

It really works on any application. Atleast I can't deactivate the passcode through this bug because I have to know it to change it.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say they probably don't know about it otherwise they would.

You guys are crazy. You know you guys are self-destructive. There's a funny farm somewhere and it's got your names written all over it. But I'm gettin' outta here.

Do you have an app open in the background?

Tap on any app, press sleep button. Then perform the trick and you're in the app.

You need to have an app open? I have AndroidLock XT installed, maybe that breaks it?

they can bypass that lock at the Apple store, takes them a few seconds. But that's if they want to do it, they can just say no like they often do.

Did you try a DFU restore?

They point blank refused the first time I went, even though it wasn't reported stolen and the activation screen was my personal email. It took that much emailing and calling before I could go back to the store and they only did it then because a even higher up CSR (Teir 2/3 I'd assume, whatever Apple calls them) was on the phone and basically ordered the employee to do what they should've done 2 hours before.

Took all of 5 minutes, took my device to the back and brought it back completely wiped and ready to accept the proper login.

Thats the biggest problem with Activation Lock. It can ruin the day of a thief but it genuinely can and will screw over owners, especially when things go wrong. Hell, even simple things like a restore. I can't even do a manual restore with Find my iPhone turned on.

This company does a lot of good, but they seem skilled at forgetting the little things.

It'll get fixed soon anyway

It doesn't seem like it. Almost every IOS has this bypass.
