Crazy 290x temps?

You guys were so helpful with my watercooling so I figured i'd ask this.

 

I just built my computer 3 days ago and all day today my display has been going blank until I restart my computer. So I opened up hwmonitor and saw these. 

 

This is right after I turn my computer on with only a web browser with youtube videos open..

Its only 75 degrees in my room and my case has a lot of cooling. Any idea whats causing it to idle at 62c +?

Those temps are fine for a 290x. Worry about your load temps more

What are ur load temps?

290x tends to run abit hot. your gpu is probably under slight load so its ok?

try using furmark or something and see it's load temps

How cold do you keep your room 75 is pretty chilly lol..

my room hits 34c on a hot afternoon. damn you sub 20c people

When watching youtube you may find it sitting at its high clocks causing the high idle.

Mine sits at 1040mhz watching tubes

Hasn't went past 80c on FurMark. 

 

Any Idea whats causing it to stop displaying then? Figured it was overheating after I saw it idling at 64c when my 7950 didnt go past 70 full load.

what load is your gpu on when it's showing 64c.

if it doesn't go past 80c on full load I say thats good.

afterburn shows it at 0%

The problem is that you got the Sapphire version and not the PowerColor PCS+

But in all seriousness RMA or get your money back and get a Powercolor PCS+ card. Look at my ultimate thread for guidelines to purchases.

change the drivers to a older one.

You can also check mobo bios update/drivers

it might be reporting temps wrongly for idle? if you didn't crash on furmark i don't think it's overheating.
