Hi guys.

I tried to install regular ATX motherboard, but did not manage to fit the MoBo into the case, I can not match the holes on MoBo with the standoffs on the case, no matter how hard I pushed the MoBo towards IO shield, few mm do nto match.

Then I saw this weird standoff on Corsair T780 case, and I scratched the backside of the Mobo with it.

Luckly I installed MoBo onto the open bench and everything is working normal.

So no matter how hard I push I simply can not align ste holes with standoffs.

But this standoff, should be like that, or someone broke the screw inside standoff?

Thanks for understanding.

You got them in the M-ATX position, marked by MA. You will need to unscrew and re mount them into the holes marked with A [not MA].

But I can not remove it by hand, tried it.

I am suprised Corsair did not mention that in manual.

Pliers or 5mm socket will get them out.

English is not my first language, so please excuse any confusion or misunderstandings on my end, also I like to edit my posts a lot.

Normal. They don't want it to just come loose. You'll need to use a wrench or socket. Worst case if you have none of those carefully use a pair of pliers or an adjustable wrench, you don't want to chew it up.

That is the correct spot. It is not MA it is A M (ATX- MATX) Both formats share some of the standoff locations, this is one of those.

You can read the manual, but you will see that the stand off locatios for ATX and M-ATX will both list that as being in the correct place. That is the standoff that you use to hold the motherboard in place while you screw in all the rest.

There is not such explanation in this case manual.

I was not able to install MoBo onto the case, which probably does not habe to do with above.

No matter how much I push the MoBo towards IO shield, holes do not match the standoffs, maybe just few mm offset.

Will try to picture it.

I will picture later for you markings to the ledt side of the MoBo tray.

This standoff does match hole on MoBo position.

It is meant to be in that position.

Yup it's fixed. Pretty common for modern cases to have one in a place that works with all sizes to help with alignment.

Okay.Thx.I can not align MoBo holes with standoffs no matter how much I push the board towards edge where IO shield is.There is like 2-3 mm offset.

What should I do?

What/where is this foam? I've never seen foam inside a case before.

Foam on the otherside of IO shield (look at pic).Common for Asus MoBo.

Ah I see it now. It is like a sandwich with the foam in the middle of the steel.

Something that I would try, take the IO shield out and try to place the motherboard temporarily. That will tell you if it is an issue with the IO shield.

It's the IO shield foam, I've fought with this before. As said, confirm by removing the IO shield temporarily to confirm fitment. You may need to trim or pull the foam off.

Oooh.Hmmm, I don't think I want that, if there is purpose of that foam.

You are probably correct, but if that is the only way I guess I'd need to do it.

Continuing trying to fit MoBo to the case would scratch more the MoBo with this standoff and damage the board permanently.

You could just run the PC without the IO shield. It is ugly, but really not needed.

RF interference suppression.

It should fit, but you might need to push hard onto it. That's the whole point, to make a leak-proof seal.

Push how and where and how to hold MoBo?

I did push as much as I can.Applying more pressure could break the PCB.

I did push, connectors on IO shield matched but holes and standoffs don't.
