i didnt think it was this bad

for comparison a dual core with HT will offer the same FPS as a quad core on BF4 with all the settings maxed out at 1080p

this game doesnt even look that good

so much for next gen BS

Consoles are many threads? Maybe that has something to do with it?

I remember seeing the requirements for this game and seeing more cores being pushed heavily.

yes true but why does it really need all that cpu power to begin with

I could not run it on ultra at 1440p on my rig, also the mouse control is SHIT

so, one hdmi cable later, and I am sat on the sofa with my 42", 1080p Ultra with AA ... the game is quite beautiful, not THE best looking, but its definitely impressive. Walking around the city at night in the rain my mouth hit the floor

Quick breakdown:

A 750 Ti / R7 260X is needed for 60+ FPS on low details at 1080p

A 780 Ti is needed for 60+ FPS on Ultra details at 1080p (290X won't even hit 50 FPS)

A 780 Ti won't hit 60 FPS on Ultra at 1440p

Yeah, I gave up with those and just plugged in my controller. It's actually a lot more fun. Aiming isn't too awful with the aim assist on.

I have no idea I'm just speculating, I don't know why it should need all the VRAM it supposedly does either, but that's a thing.

vram for big ass textures, lots of textures on screen at once in open world game especially with this kind of quality. and probably pre caching lots too

My main issue isnt performance, its the god damn  pop in, view distance is crazy for buildings and backdrops, except for objects, which spawn in about 2 feet way before you crash into them, i keep running people over because they spawn in 2 feet infront of my car

I didn't realise there was an aim assist option I will have to look, although I am trying not to just shoot everyone :P, I dont find aiming in TPS games that hard with a 360 pad. I use it quite a lot. I even played a game of BF4 once on PC and still came top of the server

I find its much better as a big screen experience and will definitely be playing this on my TV

I really like the game, the only problem i have with it is the performance. Hope Nvidia will come out with a proper driver to fix the issue.

Watch Dogs also has equal scaling along all cores. That's maybe a first in the gaming industry. The only game that comes close is BF4.

I just finished watching the benchmarking video released on youtube from LinusTechTips. (been watching the videos for a while but never on here) and I wanted a way to contact Slick and tell him how to improve Watch Dogs FPS and general performance. Im running a 4770 and a single 780Ti and in FULL settings i get more than 60 FPS (unless driving its 45-50) using nVidia Control Panel and I wanted all you guys to know about it and for them to make a profeessional video on it as I just made a quick half assed tutorial on how to fix the problems ive been hearing about. Please get this to Slick or Linus.
