Some of it yes, some would be no, i find it a shame that rog is part of asus, asus isnt a good company, they are like the opposite of the alienware/dell situation, dell is nice, alienware isnt while asus isnt nice but rog is nice, an odd predicament.

I'm on my 2nd ROG board. I bought my first for 3 reasons. The colour scheme, dedicated sound card and overclocking potential (used to love the fact i had my Q9650 runnning at 4.6Ghz 24/7).

I got my current one because my first ROG board was so great :)

I love the looks, not the price.

I don't mean to be mean, but I thought I sucked at 3d models D:

The price point of all 3 boards gene, ranger & hero are pretty price competitive compared with msi's & gigabyte's range of 9 series motherboards.

@Nitro portal I would draw up a better diagram if possible but I get the picture you're trying to present us with.

The HDD sata power cables might be a little short if they're positioned there on your case.

Please become a member of the Linus Tech Tips forum, keep writing smug remarks & let us love you. Peace out.

I'm interested in their G750 laptops. Yeah, they're big and heavy, but they seem like one of the only brands to actually have adequate cooling.

I guess I'm a bit of a sucker for black/red (Targaryen colors!), but I'm kind of 'meh' about the ROG logo, and I think 'Republic of Gamers' is kind of a silly name.

Nah. ROG is for little girls.

Boards stuffed with unnecessary features marketed at gamers [probably the last people  that are going to take advantage of them.]

They used to be superior OC boards along with UP7 and MPower boards, but since Intels OCability has regressed to 0 they jam them with random stuff noone needs. Like the OC panel. What a waste of plastic.

There is exceptions like the Crosshair, since the FX CPUs can actually take advantage of it. With Intel, these boards are nothing but overpriced. That's not ASUS' fault, but they have to milk the cow gamer somehow.

Frost upon these cigarettes.... lipstick on the window pane...

I'm not the BIGGEST fan of ROG, but I must say - they make some great, solid, well-built items.

ASUS in itself, particularly their ROG division, is very popular and definitely a pioneer in many different types or variations of products. [see: ROG Swift]

I own the ROG Maximus VI Hero Motherboard, and I love it. I think it looks great.

Then again, that's what ROG is best at - looking great.

So, I say go for it! Make them!

You wouldn't be the first (or last) with a ROG-Themed PC, however, from what I have seen - they have all turned out awesome.

Google some ideas for yourself. There's one specifically that is running through my mind, and for the life of me I cannot remember the name or find it after searching for a few minutes - but once you find it, you'll know what I was referring to. The whole PC is just aesthetically-amazing.

I'm not a fan of the color scheme of the Rog board's, mainly because the red and black theme is just plain played out and has been the most common theme for years now., but the amount of features these boards come with is incredible, half the overclocking tools, are not even necessary for the average consumer and all the little extra goodies in the ROG boxes is well worth it.
