Is it compatible? (didnt find my old topic.)

Hi guys!

I want to build a new system with some parts from my current system. The current is a Acer Predator G3610.

This is what i have right now:

  • i7-3770(not k)
  • ASUS gtx 660
  • Stock cooler for CPU
  • Acer g3610 MB
  • 1 default ssd and 1 hdd and a Samsung 840 Evo 120gb
  • 16 GB Acer RAM ddr3 (Speccy said 665 mhz.)
  • Acer 500w PSU

This is what i want to keep:

  • CPU
  • GPU
  • Cooler
  • all Drives
  • RAM

This is the new parts i want:

  • Another Asus GTX 660 running them in SLI
  • A 1155-Socket with SLI Support MotherBoard (Proberly ASRock Z77 Extreme4, Leave other Proposals) :)
  • Corsair RM850 PSU
  • Some Fans

And i dont know which CASE i should take. Either the NZXT Guardian 921 or the NZXT Lexa-s.    Or do u guys have any other proposals? A mid- or big tower with a black and blue design.

And i wonder, if 8gb RAM 1333Mhz is better then 16gb 665 Mhz. If so, i am going to change ram too.

Sry for my bad English, its not my primary Language so please dont mention it :)

I wouldn't bother with a Z77 if you don't have a 'K' CPU

So do u think i should buy another CPU? Its nothing wrong with my current one, and i just want to be able to use SLI.

hes just pointing out that a board that supports overclocking and a cpu that cant overclock are pretty useless togheter

go H77, no need to buy a K version as the benefits are minimal

No what I would say is buy a non 'Z' motherboard, it would work out a lot cheaper than just buying a new CPU
