XPLOR beat us in members

Was actually counting the affiliates on the orgs today.

Xplor 81% affiliates

Imp. 0.3%

Test 75%

UOLTT 12%

LAMP 13%

Someone made a full analysis of the orgs members on Reddit the other day. If only the "real" members are counted, Imperium would be the biggest org, followed by us and then LAMP. Like the old days, let's say :)

To give a small indication of how big we really are: 0.47 of all organizations have 100+ members. Let that sink in. ;)

Here is the link, for the one's interested:

I agree 100%

I think the only real threat to LTT is Imperium, not only in terms of numbers; but in terms of ideology.

yes, there are plans in workings to resolve the imperium situation i believe :)

What is different ideology wise? I too agree about the numbers. TEST squadron seems to be a lacky brigade, where Xplor seems like a very patched together group.

I'm not really bothered, as long as we stay in the top 5 then I think we stand a chance of staying competitive with any other Org out there.

For those wondering heres the message that they spammed out

Hi Garzelle,

Hi Garzelle

As Xplor is now the largest self sustained deep space exploration organization in the Star Citizen universe, and made up of over 1040 primary members, we have decided we will open our doors to affiliate membership for a limited time.

We have chosen to invite you because your main organization Renegade18 is focused on Trading and as we have great exciting opportunities for profitable trading in deep space. We plan to train our trader allies and provide them with the best knowledge, the most rare artifacts to trade, a great market to trade to in deep space, and most importantly protection that will allow them to get rich without the need to worry about anything else.

We are building a formidable team of individuals to join our deep space mobile exploration platform/s. We have a powerful fleet/s led by 16 Idrii (2 of these are 100% org owned) with thousands of combat and support ships at the ready.

First we must warn you Xplor´s mission is not for the faint-hearted as we will always be expanding the boundaries of deepest space. We are interested in affiliates who would like to map new jump-points; find new rare and exotic technologies, identify and mine valuable resources encountered by our scanning teams, and entrepreneurial traders who will become rich capitalizing on the loot and artifacts we will discover.

In any case I’ve written a small "spiel" below summarizing what we are about at Xplor. If you have any questions, please message me and if we don´t look like your type of org, we totally understand and wish you best of luck in the verse!

Benefits of being an affiliate with Xplor:
• Access to our knowledge archive. This includes advanced combat, advanced salvage, search and rescue, navigation, mapping and more.
• Access to our training program, specifically the upcoming DFM training we offer which includes both single player and team training.
• Taking part in our ecosystem, including preferred status when it comes to trading, access to technology, preferred terms on combat contracts and ability to use our supply lines in deep space for fuel, repairs, and rearming.
• Access to our Team Speak, Chat room, News and Intel.
• No requirements for activity, we respect and appreciate the team you are in already.

We started out as a couple of friends who were in flight school together, and decided to start a specialist exploration group with a strong military component comprised of 16 Idrii and a host of other support craft. Our rationale is simple: our members will always have their backs covered so they can confidently go about their exploration and trade activities completely unhindered. Xplor will always be found at the vanguard.

Xplor is quite unusual in that we abhor the sort of ego building and management-creep often found in organizations. We only recruit through private invites such as this one, because we are looking to build a team of intelligent individuals who can cope with all situations and think quickly on their feet. We are all of equal rank as Sergeant Brothers in arms, as in spirit. This principle of genuine mutual respect for each other is a key differentiator separating us from just about every other Star Citizen organization.

Our military strength advantage stems from the fact we have a disproportionately high ratio of battle assets per member, which means our assets are concentrated and overwhelming, and not spread thin and diluted amongst large numbers. As we have designed that fundamental asset to be a mobile platform at all times, Xplor will be able to offer its members critical deep space support on a 24/7 basis.

Our end goal is to be the best outfitted and prepared exploration unit in the known universe. If you´d like to come with us on that journey we´d be proud to fly with you at our side.

You can join as affiliate straight up by clicking the accept link above this message, or if you have any further questions please get in touch with me in PM on this forum or on our Team Speak server @ ts.xplor.today !

Thank you for taking the time to read this invitation,

Some of my mates got it. As others have said i doubt they could leverage a significant portion of that membership 99% of the time.

i think orgs should display real numbers

like blabla org - members 5000 ( 771 full 4002 affiliates, redacted 227 ) what do you think?

and any feedback on test?

Some friendly advice from someone who's run a guild for a decade; getting caught up in numbers is the fastest suicide method, doesn't help you in a game like Star Citizen, and practically ensures you will have a bad time with a very likely outcome being collapse.

In XPLOR's case, I think they will survive just because so many are affiliates. They have 81% affiliates - that means people with zero expectations. LTT has 88% members who have LTT as their main org, thus have high expectations which practically guarantees either a lot of drama or an exodus/ ghost-towning shortly after launch with only the most casual remaining. At the very least I see a majority becoming affiliates and seeking their primary teamwork elsewhere.

I hope you can take such advice and turn it into success, wish you all the best.

Just focus more on what you will provide for your members than how many you have.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Thank you for your suggestion. I definitely agree that numbers are the least important part, and that we should strive to achieve a friendly ecosystem for our members instead of trying to compete for that top of the hill spot.

Firstly, yes it was a semi troll post for jokes not argument but to burst this up a little, I joined Xplor as my primary because it HAD NO EXPECTATIONS and I was sent an invite otherwise I would still not be in any org as I am not going to look for one they can come fine me and woo me into liking what they offer. I don't personally seek to be expected to do anything I just want to be able to find people to play with easier and without the politics involved. NOT because of the numbers.

I didn't even know how big it was and I don't care how big it is, all I care about is when I go into the chat roll for it there are lots of people to talk too and usually most of them are pretty friendly and open to having some fun. Secondly Xplor is not an organization its is labelled as "faith",  only because there is no better match for it as syndicate: orginisation: insertother, makes no sense for its greater goal which is to just have no order and explore and have fun with others doing it. They are not out take galactic control.

Speaking personally I dislike organisations because at the core they are nothing but monopoly driven enterprise mongers sending out workers to ultimately make a few of the members ego's and wallets happy. Maybe my preference in "guilds" are different than others tastes, maybe this justifies why I joined and maybe it doesn't, I do find it interesting though as the first couple responses to my comment were all about trying to justify that numbers don't matter when my intentions for joining were not even defined.

tid;bits

I ran a guild once or twice aswell, I don't enjoy it at all because at some point it becomes a battle between keeping things chilled and numbers to keep up with the content to stay relevant. So these day's I rarely even look at joining any kind of group where I have duty as I am so of-put by the past. Instead prefer to just come across interesting people during my travels. I also manage my own steam community and host a couple servers as well as admin my web end. Granted you have me on making a troll post as that was the intention just cause a little stir for a laugh but now I feel I need to explain why I choose that organisation before the joke gets out of hand and turns into a political debate over numbers.

Well in that case UOLTT isnt an org either, since ultimately its there for us to have fun. We will not demand of our members to attend operations or contribute in any way that could hurt them, we are here to connect people who just like to have fun :)

That makes sense. Though I am in Australia so more numbers generally means more probability of people in my country to play with in time-zones which are closer to mine.

Fair enough :) its your choice. Im like you, i love to jump into chat, even tho its at most 10people there, and talk and joke and help eachother. Even found someone to fly simulators with :) to me its less about being the best and more about fun fun fun :) and that we have already without the game. Im relatively sure there will be at most 100 active people in the org when the game starts, and it doesnt bother me at all. Because i know these people will be there if i need help, and i will be there for them. And we will have fun in the meanwhile :P
