Should i wait for Broadwell?

Hey i was thinking about upgrading my old 1º gen core i5 with a i7 4770k but then i heard about Broadwell... so should i wait?

if you need the cpu power for editing and stuff upgrade now. if you are gaming oc the i5 and wait.the i5 is still good

look at how good 2gen chips do today, 4790k will still be a beast in broadwells time.

Well since you decided to buy one & you have a first gen product that is quite good, i'd suggest you wait for broadwell..

 

About Broadwell, It's still socketed right? or is ithe new soldered package?

Ya my i5 750 still can run a lot of stuff. I think Broadwell will have both(could be wrong)... I think i will wait for 4790k and if it is good i will go for it if not i will wait for Broadwell

I would only bother upgrading when you actually have no choice. Eg. your games are performing really badly or your mobo or CPU dies on you. Otherwise just stay with what you have got. I still have my i7 2600 and it literally does everything as good as any other chip. Obviously it runs slower then a 4770k but not by much. But if you really want DDR4 then be my guest. I will just sit here until I have to or something super exiting comes out like Devil's Canyon might be.

A lot of people upgrade their CPU even when they don't have to. If we are only looking at gaming, there is no need to wait for broadwell. Games doesn't even come close to using the potential of our current CPUs anyway. 3

I'm still rocking an i7 930/x58 build and have no issues playing the latest games. I plan to upgrade to Skylake and DDR4 when it's out and even then I don't feel it's a neccessary upgrade. My chip probably still has a good 2 years in it.
