I bought a gaming laptop and plannimg to buy a 240 hz external monitor

I recently bought a gaming laptop with ryzen 7 and rtx 4060 i am planning to buy a samsung odyssey G4 240hz monitor which only supports 240 hz in Dp my laptop only has hdmi what to do

Does your laptop have a USB-C port that also supports DisplayPort? You could potentially use that port for your monitor

Keep in mind this is a mobile 4060 NOT a desktop one.

 

Also what laptop is it? A lot have usb c dp port capabilities. If yours doesnt then well it simply wont work.

My laptop is acer nitro 16 it has two usb c port will it connect to monitor can you check pls

Then it appears that no, the Type C port does not support video out via DP Alt mode:

Weirdly, a cheaper model with an Intel i5 and 4050 does, likely because it includes a thunderbolt chip. AN16-51-56VR
