Front jack only works for headphones or mic but not both

Rhodes 3

I have a problem with the front jack on my PC: I can only use it for my headphones or my headset mic, but not both, even though they use the same cable. In configuration I can change if it does audio output or input and if I do so the corresponding device works but I can't figure out how to use both the headphones and the mic at the same time.

For reference:

My headset is the Logitech G432

My Motherboard is the Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite v2

Do you have 1 headphone jack on the mobo and 2 on the headset or opposite?

Only one jack on the headset and there is another jack specifically for a mic on the back of the PC

You need 3.5mm input/output seperator. Your headset has a combo jack.

Your headset should've come with an adapter that terminates the TRRS jack into 2 separate TRS jacks for headphones and microphone. Anyways, buy an adapter if you don't have one.

Do I have to worry much about loss of quality with an adapter?
