1440p 144hz IPS freesync monitors in 2024

currently have an ultrawide, but looking to change , 

the last time i was looking at monitors was when the LG 27GL850 was the go to, but that was 4 years ago, i havent get up, just looking for suggestions for monitors

 

im UK based, currently have a 7900xtx as my GPU if this guides the choices budget £250-350 GBP

Depends how big is the budget. OLEDs are probably the best options but they cost a lot.

Edit: IPS? 27GP850 is still good option, considering the price.

i'll look into it, i think oled might be a bit too expensive as i will need to buy a pair, but im probably looking £250-300 per monitor

I have two LG 27gp850-B's and they are fantastic!  I went through a few Samsung and ASUS monitors before I landed on the LG's.

The review from Monitors Unboxed helped a lot too.

I also own the LG 32GQ850-B, its a 32'' 1440p Nano IPS 240hz monitor!  Its absolutely fantastic.

 

I can highly recommend the LG monitors.  They are great to look at with little to no IPS Glow / Backlight bleed on my units.

Realistically, the difference between 800:1 and 1000:1 is negligible. So I wouldn't hold that against the LG monitor too much. In the end, the unit-to-unit differences in terms of IPS glow or backlight bleed is probably much more noticeable than slightly lower contrast.

 

The MSI G274QPF-QD has a bigger color gamut, but is much slower and needs different pixel overdrive levels depending on the fps you're expecting from the game, so it's cheaper than the LG options (27GP850-B or 27GP83B-B) for a good reason. So unless you need the Adobe RGB color space, the LG models are still the better option, as long as the price jump isn't a problem.

LG always is slightly lower contrast but this doesn't impact much to viewing experience. LG still did awesome in overall, for IPS, I still highly recommended LG as LG at least know to proper calibrate a monitor to look great.
