Interesting Craigslist find.

Every now and then I browse my local Craigslist to see if any decent server deals are available. In my market, there isn't usually a whole lot available and most of what is isn't worth the price. That said, I found an absolute GEM today... At a mere $2,000 USD, you too can own a license for Wildcat Interactive Net Server!

I'll be honest, I had to search what the heck this even was... Santronics Software (https://www.santronics.com/index.php) published this and described it as:

I totally get that, up through the early 2000's, all sorts of interesting server software solutions existed to serve SMBs but man, I can't believe someone is trying to sell this for $2,000 today. Absolutely wild.

@Linus should buy it, set up an old Windows 2000 Server vm, and host a BBS on it for the community 😄 Sounds like a great episode.

Ah Wildcat BBS, 1996 called and cried about the internet putting it out of business.

Wildcat did have an "interesting" 5.x software package right around that time though, that the BBS would have a HTML front end.
