The best Thermal Paste or Pads to buy in bulk

bcredeur97

Have a little project at work coming up where I'll have to socket 18 LGA 3647 CPU's (Xeon Gold 6150's). I'm realizing we'll need quite a lot of thermal paste for that.
So I'm wondering what is the best thing to get that you can buy in bulk that's relatively inexpensive? We don't need anything crazy, it just needs to work. Those CPU's aren't that hot haha

I was thinking too maybe if we could get sheets of the thermal pad material that would be a lot easier and cleaner, I'm just not sure what to get or where to get it!

Just a 25g paste of arctic thermal paste and call it good. Is like 20$ or so

Arctic sells 20g and 45g. Where I live the 45g of MX-4 cost very close to the 20g so...

It's only 18 xeons you'll easily have half a tub of 45g left 😛

You can try syy-157, or for better performance TR TF-7. More expensive but one of the best is PTM7950 SP. Honestly, there's a long list of pastes that are within no more than 5 degrees of each other.

Do not get Alphacool Silver. It is crap, even if you pay $1 for 100g.

If you don't mind it being formed into a pad, get the PTM7950 pad instead. Put it in the freezer before applying it to make it easy to remove the plastic protective sheet, otherwise it can tear. LTT actually sells the pad, and is cheaper than most places,  including MODDIY.
