CPU usage on mac is normal and no sus downloads, but could there still be a virus

You can try Avast. They are notorious for popus but you can just delete it afterwards. Do this only for your peace of mind. Run an antivirus scan and then delete the app. Do not use them long term. MacOS Xprotect is perfectly fine.

I accidentally clicked on a suspicious link on my mac, but after checking everything i couldn't find anything suspicious like the cpu usage being too high and any new windows opening up. The only problem is i wasn't able to read the usage monitor thingy on the mac bc the names were just too complicated. Could there still be a virus? Is there anything in the usage monitor thingy that i should look out for?

I see rarely virus targetting a Mac, but theres could be one, and unless you completely turn off the security measures (SIP protection on MacOS 10.15 and later) on mac, you should be fine.

uhhh my mac is running OS X 11.11 should i be worried even tho the cpu usage is normal and there are no sus downloads?

If you do not notice any suspicious activity or any slowdowns, you should be fine. Check if there are any unwanted apps installed. Since you only clicked the link ur mostly fine I guess. Run a virus scan if you wanna be completely sure(for your own sake)

Simply download Malwarebytes and run a scan. It's free.

Avast has essentially become what Norton, McAfee, an AVG all used to be: A bloated turd that barely works, and if I'm not mistaken they still sell your info like nobody's business.
