Did Microsoft edge just hijack my passwords?

I accidentally opened edge it asked to import my bookmarks and passwords... since i wanted to close it right away anyway i just clicked on X to close that window ... to my surprise it already "imported" all my bookmarks... so how can i check if it did the same with my passwords?

and if it did how do i remove them? i don't trust edge at all so i obviously don't want it to store my passwords.

Open settings with the 3 dots in the upper right corner. On the main profile page at the bottom you will see where it has passwords. This is where you can check imported/saved passwords to remove/delete.

yeah, same. but it actually imported my bookmarks... which is quite odd without me prompting this at all.

I did check the settings now though and it doesn't look like it has my passwords, I'm still baffled how it went about getting and displaying my bookmarks. (which it for some reason calls "favorites" when chrome calls them bookmarks as far i can tell btw)
