Need advice New PC build

Research.  Just because a CPU has more cores, doesn't mean it's better.  Just like in cars, there is more than Engine Size to take into consideration.   Do some watching of YT for why.

16 cores is more than 8 cores, but the 7950X3D uses 8 cores with it's X3D cache only.  No games use all 16 cores to a tangible benefit.

Again, look at game reviews and benchmarking.  The 7800X3D is the fastest CPU on the planet for gaming (on average).  Period.  Winning by a small margin at times, but in a black and white world... it is the fastest on average.  Even God uses one.

Thank you sir. Much appreciated!

As the title might suggest I wanna build a new pc and I want to go for nearly the best I can afford. I already bought a Radeon 7950xtx OC and a 1000w PS but now I want to upgrade the rest of my gear.  For the processor I was thinking ryzen 9 7950x for the motherboard ASUS ROG Strix X670E-F. Now when it comes to the ram I wanna get CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 7200MHz CL34 Intel XMP iCUE Compatible and I'm not sure if they are compatible. Not sure if I'm making the right decision with the ram since the

Memory clock speed for the motherboard is 2133 MHz

also the RAM seems to be dedicated for Intel and I wanna get and AMD chip.

What are you using this system for?

7950X is a very niche chip, very few people actually need what it provides.

X670 strix boards are wildly overpriced

For AM5 you'll want to look at 6000Mhz and CL30 memory.

When memory says its "for intel", it doesn't mean anything. Just that it was tested on that platform. Kind of like saying you can't change what hand an oven mitt goes onto lol.

I thought so the intel bit meant tha tbut my main concern was the

Memory clock speed for the motherboard being 2133 MHz. And honestly I was going expensive since I could not find any motherboard that specified that is compatible with 7000mhz + ram or have pcie 5 for the graphics.

You want 6000CL30 for AM5, going further can stress the IMC too much and you won't get 7000+ out of it anyway.

What motherboard would you suggest would work bestwith the GPU,CPU and 6000Mhz ram? Would prefer gigabyte since I'm familiar with the Bios.

Technically anything over 2133 is an "overclock". But the 7000 chips are actively stable at 6000 CL30.

The board won't provide you any more performance, and trying to get 7000Mhz memory will be either lackluster or redundant

Look at the Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AX or Pro AX.  They are more than enough for AM5.

Both run EXPO/XMP for 6000MHz RAM without issue.

You'd want to look at a 7800X3D instead then - and for the board I would just grab something like an Aorus elite AX.

Well then get the 7800X3D,not a 7950X.

Also, please lead with "Someone suggest a CPU for gaming, cuz I may not fully understand them"  🙂

The 7950X is not a gaming CPU.  At all.

PCIe 5 isn't worth paying extra for, as it provides no benefit for ANY GPU out now.
