Research.  Just because a CPU has more cores, doesn't mean it's better.  Just like in cars, there is more than Engine Size to take into consideration.   Do some watching of YT for why.

16 cores is more than 8 cores, but the 7950X3D uses 8 cores with it's X3D cache only.  No games use all 16 cores to a tangible benefit.

Again, look at game reviews and benchmarking.  The 7800X3D is the fastest CPU on the planet for gaming (on average).  Period.  Winning by a small margin at times, but in a black and white world... it is the fastest on average.  Even God uses one.

Thank you sir. Much appreciated!

Very true, the keyword being 'tangible benefit'. Only a few games will spill into the 2nd CCD but that's not worth it overall (I think Hogwarts is one of them). I haven't found a game that I play which requires the extra 8 cores of the 7950x3D.

Its really a niche product for people who actually want/need the extra multithreading, which is likely a single digit percentage of 7000x3D consumers. It just happens to be the perfect CPU for me in various ways.

I will say though, the extra 8 cores come in handy when I'm playing Warframe and Diablo 4 at the same time. Something that would break my PC when I was running only CCD0.

Really?  I was playing WoW and Ark at the same time on my 7700X and my 9900K previously.

Alt tabbing during raid timeouts, etc.

I play Enshrouded as well as Sea of Thieves simultaneously currently.

Maybe I am getting a larger dip in performance than you're comfortable with.

Warframe will handedly use almost all 8 cores under load, Diablo 4 being the same. They're both fullscreen windowed as well. Most the time Warframe is in the background in this scenario in case I get a riven sale from a warframe.market listing.

Ewh, WoW.
