SATA 600 and SATA 300 can i instal on to the other?

Hi so i have an old laptop needing a switch from a horrible hdd to a new SSD

The thing is that the HDD that is in the laptop has a SATA 300 interface whille the SSD i orderd has a SATA 600 interface

 

Is it just a simple install or are there anyother steps i need the under take?
