My HDD is not showing in Disk Utility

I recently got a Seagate ONE TOUCH 2TB to backup my old files but when I plugged it in it said it doesn't recognize the device as so I clicked initialize after that I saw it in disk utility not in finder and decided to change adapters after that the drive stopped appearing

What do you mean by that? What happens if you change it back?

 

Based on your description you're on macOS. If the drive reappears in Disk Utility, use that to create a partition on the drive. You need to format it to APFS before you can use it to store data.
