Clarification Regarding Adata XPG S70 blade

In5mice

I'm planinng to buy XPG S70 Blade but I have listened that after serving 6-9 months these SSD slow down their speeds and even in some cases the ssd went dead.

So, I want your user experience of using S70 Blade and it is worth buying or not.

Mine bought around March 2023, still works fine.

You do know that they did swap NAND to 128l TLC YMTC, right? Right?

some manufacturers did report problem with IG5236, not sure how relevant that was.

for me, I just don't trust the 128l TLC YMTC, as I have seen some ssd with them, had filed nand.

I used 1TB version for one and a half years as my main drive, no performance issues. Didn't really use it very aggressively every day though.

Used to be one of the most affordable PCIe 3.0 TLC SSDs around here where I reside.

I edit my posts more often than not

Gaming, sure.
There's not much difference between even a blazing fast Gen 5 NVME with SATA SSD for gaming anyway.

Just some miliseconds up to 2 seconds of loading time depending on the game.

Editing work, dunno much. So far for my quite heavy photoshopping needs its doing fine.

It can be quite hot though, as is with most if not all of NVME Gen 4 and above.

So depending on the use case, a decent heatsink might be severely needed.

And no, the slim heatsink included in the box won't help much.
