I would recommend the cat instead, a lot more entertaining and rewarding to "pst pst" than gaming.

How does the ps5 slim performance compare to the normal ps5?

in terms of what?  Noise levels?

 

In terms of gaming performance they will be identical.

Yeah the slim does have a new APU but it was developed to perform the same as the old, while consuming less power.

Technology is like a good friend that does its best to piss you off at every turn. yet we love them anyway.

Exactly the same but smaller and less power draw. Also accessing the SSD slot is easier.

If you buy a PS5 fat new in store it's probably one of the newer models with the same lithography and same power consumption as the slim. The fat comes with a vertical stand while the slim doesn't (so a $30 upcharge). If you want to set the system horizontally I'd probably go slim because the horizontal stand is horrible on fat PS5 and the system wobbles like hell.
