Self-Hosted Website for Displaying Photos

In short, I'm looking to create a gallery page for some of the photos I've taken.

Ideally I have a docker container on my Unraid server that's mapped to a folder with 50-100 images, maybe some videos.

The site itself would have minimal text, maybe 2 pages total, home page/gallery, contact, the focus is having an easily accessible site I can share some of my favorite photos.

Played around with Drupal, which functionally could achieve what I'm wanting- but found the interface rather unintuitive. Would like something easier to deploy for a rather basic site.

Do you have any experience coding? What you are describing would be fairly simply to throw together in a few hours with some simple HTML and CSS without all the bloat of an external backend. Just simply serve on a NGINX container through a reverse proxy and you are golden.

ask me about my homelab

on a personal quest convincing the general public to return to the glory that is 12" laptops.

cheap and easy cable management is my fetish.

Pretty sure there are countless web hosting providers that can do this for a nominal fee per year. GoDaddy has a website builder, Squarespace is a frequent sponsor of LTT.

Most of my experience is with python, minimal experience with HTML. Do you have a recommendation for HTML editor environment?

Reverse proxy and NGINX I'm comfortable with.

There's also the question of how I link media with the front end site, not sure the best way of doing this- which is what brought me to the forums. Maybe someone knows of a project that can be adapted.

Yes, GoDaddy, Squarespace, they would work- but I want to host it myself, or your idea is to just build the site using Squarespace, not use them for hosting?
