Spectrum router stopped working

RussianTaco

Hi guys this is my first post here so if it's in the wrong fourm I apologize in advance. My wifi stopped working last night, like it doesn't even pop up as a option to connect to but running ethernet from the router to pc still works, it's a spectrum router and talked to spectrum support and jumped through there hoops to no avail, I've tried unplugging power cord from router and modem, unplugging ethernet cords, holding reset button down for 20 seconds but still got nothing, any idea how to fix? Note: I also plugged in another router I had and it popped up as a option to connect to but it had no internet either

What are their hoops?  They can see a diagnostic of the router from their side, I've had more than a few ISP's tell me more of what's going on in my house than I care to acknowledge.

They should be able to see the wifi not working, and replace the router.

It isn't YOUR job to figure this out, this is theirs.  Get a tech out to the house.

Or just be smart and buy your own router and stop renting theirs?  If you are infact paying monthly for it.

They just had me do the unplugging stuff and holding reset button, said they were testing it on there end but there conclusion was to come in and get a new one which isn't a huge deal was just hoping there might would be a way to fix it tonight to have wifi tonight/tomorrow, and I'd like to buy a router but can't afford one currently were actually not paying the rent for our current one were part of some program my wife setup that pays for it

Good to hear you aren't renting one 🙂

Best you can do is power cycle it or even factory reset it.   Sorry man.

Do you have a modem and router separately or is it an all in one box?

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
