DLSS is the best upscaler out there even if you dont use FG.

Just get a 6700 xt and the increased frame rate will more than make up for the frames you would get from dlss

True, but for the same money they could have a 6700 xt or used 6800, also FSR isn't terrible, it's not as good as DLSS but not it's that bad

DLSS is better than FSR, but not but much.

 

What is more important is you get 12GB of Vram (but don't get a 4060 12GB cause it has no performance for the money).

 

I suggest a RX 6700 XT or you could wait for the RX 7600 XT 12 GB that is rumoured to be out next month.

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

DLSS even on my 2080 is truly incredible when the scene works well with it. Lately in Ghostwire Tokyo I have an issue where performance shits the bed until I reboot, so I have to go from quality DLSS to ultra performance, which means it renders at sub-720p... and it generally looks better than native 720p as long as there isn't rain.

At 1080p and a 4060 or greater, I don't see DLSS being that useful as the GPU should be fast enough to play the game at 1080p high/ultra settings.

 

I find DLSS generally works pretty well at 2160p with my 3090 but would probably rather go AMD for the faster gpu + more vram here.

DLSS can really improve performance and still look great, that is if the game use a later version of it. If not you might have to manually update the DLSS files for that game.

 

Sadly nowadays there is a trend that some developers cut corners and not optimizing their games properly but instead turn on DLSS or FSR by default. To save time and money.

DLSS doesn't make much sense for 1080p. 

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.
