Posted December 17, 2023 I'm looking for replacement panel for my HP gaming laptop, and found these 2 L71941-001 with 144Hz 40 pin L71938-001 with 60Hz 30 pin Both were referenced with the service manual on page 53, but it wasn't super explicit on that regard. Posted December 17, 2023 You’ll need to replace it with whatever refresh rate panel you originally had, seems the differences in connector are due to the refresh rate. That’s not uncommon at all, a lot of thinkpads I’ve worked on use 30 pin for the lower resolution panels, and 40 pin for the higher resolution ones. Get the 60hz 30 pin panel if that’s what you have, or the 40 pin 144hz panel if that’s what you have. They’re not interchangeable. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options... Posted December 17, 2023 Because the pins are different, they won't be compatible. But, it isn't necessarily true that the incompatibility is due to the refresh rate difference. I upgraded my HP Laptop from a 1080p 60Hz display to a 1080p 120Hz display. There are some websites that I've long since forgotten that have a pretty extensive catalog of all the laptop display panels that are out there. And you can get them at a more affordable price that way too. e.g. $80 vs $350 for a replacement panel. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
