Help : Does ECC RAM work with normal motherboard

Go to solution Solved by RONOTHAN##,

Unbuffered ECC can work on normal DDR3 boards, just without the ECC doing anything. Registered ECC like your cannot.

I have more than 16 of these 16GB sticks of DDR3 RAM. They are ECC. can somebody tell me if they will work in normal boards ??

Model of RAM : KVR16LR11D4/16

I really have no use for them and they are just lying around with me. if they are worth anything. I wanna sell them. please suggest.

REGISTERED ram works only on motherboards with chipsets/processors that support registered RAM.

The x58 board has no mention of support for registered ram, and the desktop processors typically don't support registered memory.
