Best Cable to Use for 2560x1080 monitor.

Hey guys just need some advice on whats the best cable to use for my new monitor.

Its a LG 34UM65 it has displayport, DVI and HDMI. It has resolution of 2560x1080

My PC specs are CPU: 6700k @4.7Ghz Ram: 16GB Corsair RGB Pro GPU: RTX 2070  PSU: RM650 CPU cooler: corsair H150 Case: corsair Motherboard: ASUS Z270 Pro SSD: 1tb Samsung 970 EVOand SK Hynix 1TB

There all going to give u the exact same picture quality so it really doesn't matter.

This ^ is the easiest way to explain it.

Display port is pretty good for digital signals, DL-DVI is good if you have the habbit of moving your monitor aroung much in which case the screw bolted cable will help you lock in the device without acidently unplugging it, But, it's a minor issue. HDMI , either way.

Thanks guys for your help. Since I already have a HDMI cable I may as well use that if its all the same quality.

And BTW this monitor is awesome! Especially as I watch all my movies on my PC and playing games is much more imersive. And having an IPS panel the colours are really nice I would recommend this monitor :)

My down to earth answer is use whatever cable you have laying around BUT Display port is the future, might as well stock up on cables now. There will always be seperate cables for home theatre and PCs. HDMI is optimized for home theatre (built in 7.1 audio) and DP for PC (support for higher resolutions). One will always exist for each. But if you don't know what the difference is, it probably doesnt matter to you. So use whatever cable is laying around.

 

Edit: also remember ONLY DP supports adaptive sync
