Is the Motherboard Fan Control program from Asus still showing up in task manager?

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

An air cooler might not be the best solution for a chip that runs that hot ?

You could try set your fan curves in the BIOS rather than with software.

I wish you'd reinstalled Windows without adding the saukerl Armoury Crate. 😞

Yes, I understand that. That is why I said what I did - because you installed AAC again. Even if you don't activate Fan XPert, AAC can potentially cause problems.

Here's my suggestion, and I'm sorry for the hassle.

  1. Check your BIOS fan curves, take photos, and try setting them to silent, then more photos. Post them here.
  2. Remove AAC using the clean install app, either from the Asus website, or a third-party uninstaller that is reputable. Look at BleepingComputer.com's suggestions on those uninstallers, if you like, since they specialize in cybersecurity.
  3. Make sure that Motherboard Fan Control isn't running by looking in the task manager. Block it until it no longer shows up. Restart and check again.
  4. If you notice the fans misbehaving, look for other Asus software that may not have been removed and block anything that is directly related to fans. Restart and check again.
  5. If the fans continue to have problems, look for other fan control software (MSI Afterburner, Fan Control, SignalRGB, OpenRGB, iCUE, etc.) and uninstall it all just in case. Restart and check again.
  6. If you still have problems, upload photos of what's in task manager.

Regarding your photos, it looks like the first one shows 2 PWM cables connected to the left of the battery.

The second shows a PWM cable connected second from the left.

The third shows a PWM cable connected at the top next to 2 empty PWM headers.
Is that correct?

I also see that your fan cables are going to the back of the case. What are they attached to? Photos please.

That's useful. Before you start on the above steps, please share the requested photos and also remind me how many fans you have.

im thinking that we can let a software from asus (like armory crate) controll the fans but we have find out now why the case fans are doing strange stuff and not the other ones
