Hey. Just got the cooler and some of the new fans. No more full speed fans here 🥳

Thanks alot for the help 🙏

a  few basic things here:

New fans wont help you if u cant get the PWM controller to work

its been 7 days since the first helpfull guy asked for a pic of how all this 🙂 ...

and for the advice, just go to bios,  set a fan curve to 20% -> restart the pc and go STRAIGHT back to bios and tell us if the fans did quiet down,  this way we can know if all this is a  software bug

or u can get the same fan controller im using 🙂

if I go into bios and set all fans to 20%
then nothing happens, but if I set 4 of the fans to 10% and turn off the other 3, I can control the other 4 without any problems
but if i try to turn on one of the others i can't control any of them

I have tried the 5 fan headers that are in the motherboard, and it is the same, but I have found several on the net where they have a problem with the same fans running at full speed and that they cannot start. and when they change fans, the new fans run normally

could it be that my Noctua NF-A14 iPPC-3000 PWM 140mm fans are not for PC and for server

Can it be that people should check manuals?

.61w x 3 = 1.83w. Mind showing me in your motherboard manual what headers you have those fans plugged into and what they’re rated for?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

thats a good point, burring out headers is a real thing, but ofc that does not explain the full speed problem

No, but it does explain this; the headers aren’t burnt out yet. They’re just not letting him draw too much power through them.

max 1A 12W on all fan headers

i use those fan headers

cha_fan 1  have 1 fan 1 back

cha_fan 2 have 2 fans 2 top

cha_fan 3 have 2 fans 1 front and 1 top

cha_fan 4 have 2 fans 2 front

So all your headers are overloaded under a typical load. 3 of them are trying to draw 2.2 amps under a typical load….

no. The original post was just that they were loud and there is no control over them.
They’re server fans. They’re going to be loud even when they’re running at a slower speed than max.

Gotcha. Trying to keep them from frying headers won't help anything.

Best of luck.

The problem that @IkeaGnomenoticed that I forgot to check is that your overloading your headers. Even with a hub that's powered by the PSU, it is possible to do that. You need to make sure none of your headers are being pushed past 1A.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

nice that shows us that you did not overload the headers.

so what programs makes the fans go crazy?  and how old is the windows install?
