Logitech G27 wheel broken - Need help identifying part.

iFixit has a Logitech G27 disassembly / repair guide.

That looks like the "...metal half-circle clip..." shown in Step #19, mentioned in orange.

So, long story short, I bought a used G27 wheel, it came with a missing foot which I was told I could buy another one and use just the one in the meanwhile by the seller.

That lone foot was not only doing double hours, but was also clearly poorly 3D printed and, to no one's surprise, within an hour it broke.

All good, I could just buy the 2 feet and replace them. Sure, now let's disassemble the wheel to remove the broken foot. It had obviously been open before and probably mostly by force, and closed up even worse. All good, after opening hundreds of used laptops, I was already expecting this. What I was not expecting was that one of the many stuck screws was one of the largest and hardest to access (One of the three screws that held the wheel assembly to the chassis). I couldn't remove it by the old and new gods and ended up giving up, however I did not give up on removing the old feet, no, there was enough of a gap for me to grab the broken foot and maybe even possibly use the same gap to replace the other ones in the future. Oh shit, something fell off.

No sound of something breaking, nothing, it just fell off while I was removing the broken feet through the gap.

TLDR: Broken G27, tried to open, something fell off.

The part that fell off:

(It's 6cm/2.3in long)

Alright, now. I know this is a metal leaf spring. It came from somewhere inside (obviously) and fell from the back. All I want to know is: Do I need it? I can't open the whole wheel to put it back where it belongs, not with that stuck screw. So is this an integral part of the wheel, or can I just replace the feet and go on?

In case it is an integral part, where does it belong? If it's important to the functionality of the wheel, I'll consider getting the screw drilled by a professional and opening up the wheel fully to put it back in.

Also photo of the screw in question:

Any help will be appreciated.
