Is there a way I can tell if the one I have supports multiple tv's?

if you can see the mount on the tv and the mount legs are longer then where the screw is then it might be a 400x400

if the screws are pretty much at the end of the legs then its only a 300x300

fyi this is a good example of a all vesa size mount

I have a mount on my wall that my brother installed about 6 or 7 years ago and it currently has a 300x300 49" tv mounted to it.

I don't know anything about the mount and don't have the box and my brother doesn't remember either.

I want to buy a 400x300 65" tv, is it reasonable to assume or is there any way I can tell that my mount will work for the new tv (preferably without taking the current one off)?

without taking it off to see its hard to say. if its an actual 300x300 then no it will not work with a 400x300. youll need a 400x400 mount.

if you do get a new mount get one that covers different mount/tv  sizes. that way youll never have to worry about when swapping tvs again

you can get good ones on amazon from 30 to 60 bucks

Alright, thanks for that, it looks like my mount will probably work then.
