Is amazon free shipping actually free?

It's free and usually ships by their lowest estimate (typically 5 days if it's labelled 5-8 days). As long as it's fulfilled by Amazon. 

Amazon Prime is worth the investment if you order frequently.

its free but get ready for a very very very slow shipment when amazon sees you didnt pay for shipping they take there sweet time. 

not completely true actually, I've ordered a few things one of them even being a long board and they didn't take anymore than 3 maybe 4 days.

I run my own indie game company called Color Dragon Studios where we are currently making a 2d platformer game called Small Earth.
