Cheapish speakers?

Beep or Boop

Just looking for some cheapish speakers that I can slide under my monitors that I can just plug straight into my mobo. Don't necessarily need the cheapest option, but probably a good deal. Not looking to spend a crazy amount because I don't often listen to stuff through speakers but would like the option.

You don't say the budget... If you want cheap, maybe have a look at Lenovo M0520 at 20-25$ : https://www.newegg.com/lenovo-m0520-others/p/N82E16836146017

Not the best link, probably find it on amazon or other places cheaper.

Right, because I don't really have a specific budget. Looking for peoples opinion on cheapish speakers and make my decision there.

You should be informed most of all.  Self powered speakers are what you want considering you plan to run them from your onboard audio.  That is because onboard doesn't provide the power for speakers, rather a signal for speakers to do with as they please.

If you have a micro center I would just go see what they have, and perhaps if this isn't a big product flow and they aren't marginally acceptable to something online with regards to price, you can use that as a base line to understand pricing categories.

If you are in the $20 range it's best to take a shot in the dark, @mariushm gave you a light in that dark.

If you are $50+ you will probably be able to find reviews of consumer products.  I know that 21 years ago in my dorm room I had some Dell Harmon Kardon  2.1 speakers that I freaking loved however coming with a computer who knows the real price, I know they were an upgrade a few years earlier.

Once you hit $100 you get some great options, my amazon search skills mixed with experience show these edifier powered bookshelves

And above that I have found that Micca makes a killer bookshelf and these are the self powered version of what I have

Cheapest speakers i can vouch for is Creative Pebble (don't get the sub) but under 500usd you only really have 2 good options for speakers JBL 305 and Kali LP6, not heard of or tried anything that comes close to them bookshelves that wasn't an insanely good used deal
