And that fan isnt attatched to anything either

Basically ran out of fans since all 3 of my foxconn 3.5k rpm fans are pointed at me cause i dont like getting hot when benching and no annoying mosquito bites so just took this off an am3 copper cooler and put it on the rams as im doing some kinda intense ddr3 ram oc, didnt expect it to run this fast however and it still barely moves any air

Is this normal behaviour for one of these stock amd fans for their am3 copper coolers?

and i might aswell share a preview of the ram oc im doing atm which is stabilizing ludicrous ram freq on nehalem with 2 sticks (3rd channel is kinda shit so limited to 2 sticks), got these double sided dual rank hynix cfr sticks as im only intending to put em on a kit that im about to sell and only really need em to run at 2100-2200 (1156 kit) but i might aswell test hynix cfr so heres the stable freq im hitting

2800 isnt bad but honestly kinda dissapointed in hynix cfr since they already need 2.06v and im sure theyll hardwall aka stop scaling at some point, could just be the fact that these are double sided so maybe single sided cfr can clock abit better, for double sided oem rams which have pretty shit pcbs not a bad result but kinda dissapointed in cfr since i was expecting more like 3200+ out of this ic so i guess those 1gb gdies are the best sticks i own, and nehalem either runs in 1:2 or 1:1 no inbetween sadly so uncore is laughably slow, but damn asus and all the other board manufacturers that force 2:1 uncore : memclk were missing out, oh well now to find an ex58 ud3r or an x58a oc

Spoiler

heres the bios settings

Currently im trying to get higher freq so ill post a proper thread once i hit max freq

Get that third channel going, you are leaving performance on the table. Dual channel is not good for X58, but it works.

3rd channel seems to wall around 2600 but i have gotten 2700 and even 2800 going but needs a ton of extra vdimm so yea im looking for a better board

Ive tried for like 5-6 hours now to get 3000 stable but nope even if i run it at 2.5v so yea hynix cfrs dissapointing af on x58 and need >c11 which x58 seems to hate and no post above c11

now the goal is to just resell this board so hey atleast i can advertise 2800 ddr3 stable but cpu imc can still go higher so id rather some ics that can do 3000+ and im also looking for a nehalem with a better imc so hope this 930 doesnt happen to have a golden sample imc but i think ill put in the 950 instead since it walls at 3000 with gdie and 2900 with psc compared to the 930 that walls at 3100 gdie and 3200+ psc, curious about the w35xx xeons though as they seem to just be xeon counterparts, maybe i can get a good bin imc out of em

Any ideas on 2gbit ics that can do 3000+? Otherwise ill just buy 4gbit mfrs

why only at 2.8? should be like at least 4.0... even with domantors it was hard to get them stable on that system. people triyed and failed.

my dad had the domnators and 960 i had the 920 and some gskill ram. he said my 920 was kinda better then his 960 if i had better ram with it. he did set it to 4.0 but some point it failed and sadly i was in a rade zero...

i no some mbs dont like more ram something to do with the controller getting too hot or something. but for gaming ya triplke would be the way to go.

I have dyslexia plz be kind to me. dont like my post dont read it or respond thx
