Theres already things that beat the steamdeck at performance.
But none beat the price.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

It'll be like the ROG ally with a 2560x1600 bigger screen, the same z1 extreme processor in the rog ally, a bit more expensive, faster ram (6400 vs 7500), up to a 1tb ssd instead of a 512gig one, a 50whr battery rather than a 40whr one (but with a higher res screen that won't make much of a difference to battery life), it'll be heavier at 854g rather than 604g on the ROG ally and it'll be able to have it's controllers detached (but most pc games aren't used to split screening so might be useful but you won't really use it)

Message me on discord (bread8669) for more help

Sure, more competition the better. It might force Steam to release a newer model more often versus pulling a Nintendo Switch. Steam's solution so far wins in the software department, but eventually better hardware will win the battle.

I can still only see this relic of the past every time I see these Windows handhelds.

There are many handheld consolised pcs these days and many of them are quite a bit more powerful than the Steam Deck. But they cost in many cases double, if not more.

If you want all that performance, you will pay for it, but at the price/performance mark, nothing beats a steam deck overall.

I guess it depends on what games you want to play really.

Nothing beats a steam deck for price/performance.

Heaps of devices beat the steam deck performance wise. The legion go will too but at a much higher cost
