Maybe you could introduce an opt-in account setting that makes it so i automatically follow every topic that i post in.

 

Especially newer members often don't use quotes or @ so i cannot see when they reply.

 

In other cases people deliberately don't use quote or @ so i don't see their response and they try to "win" a debate by having the last word.

 

Imo this change would be a great addition to make the forum more accessible to new users and help power users at the same time.

This feature exists. Go to Account Settings > Notifications > Followed Content. https://linustechtips.com/notifications/options/

Select "Automatically follow content I reply to"
