Performance improvement in 4790k over 4770k?

If so, by how much? Also, how much do you think the 4790k would cost?

It will be between $300 and $350 like any i7

stop asking questions about the performance because nobody knows a crap about it

No you stop. I can ask what I want, and I said what would you think, basing your prediction on the past.

It will perform as well as a slightly overclocked 4770K.

Here is a review for 4970 the non K version. Considering the K version is 100 MHz faster and can be overclocked expect similar performance at stock speed. But no one knows how it will overclock yet.

HAHAHA REKT

@OP I'm pretty sure all that's changed is a 100mhz core clock boost and some new power regulations with the Z97 chipset.

lol if the first few post are any indication of where this is going.

Under a 10% increase in performance, same price.

If you got a good overclocking 4770k maybe not much at all. If you got a poor overclocker, maybe quite a bit. Most 4770k's are from like 4.1-4.7 on safe voltage/temps. The new chips could be 4.5 to past 5ghz (random guess). Clock for clock they are the same though. The new I7 appears to be higher binned then the I5 going by the turbo clock, but that turbo clock is prob on one core, so the new I5 probably has the same turbo clock as the current 4770k and the same base clock as well and current Haswell I7's are a crapshoot, so I don't expect big things out of the new I5 other then being able to push more voltage and maybe getting 100-200mhz with temps.

The 4ghz Base clock is the BIG thing here on the new I7 K. These things must be pretty high binned to be doing that. So the new I5's? Might not be that awesome. The new I7's LOOKS LIKE they are going to be one hell of a overclocker.

This is all speculation though. We will see what happens. If I was looking at building a new system and was going with a enthusiast board and a water cooler and a I7? I would definitely wait for the new chip. You can lose and lose big on top clock on current Haswell I7's.

Let's be honest here, you can make a pretty damn good speculative answer if you gave it as much effort as you do harassing him about the question he asked.  ;)

It's actually quite more than you think, 3 Days ago Intel officially announced the base clock speeds on the Devil Canyon i7 4790k which has a base clock speed at 4ghz and a turbo clock at 4.4ghz right out of the box..
this is my source: http://wccftech.com/intel-devils-canyon-core-i7-4790k-core-i5-4690k-processors-confirmed-core-i74790k-boosts-44-ghz/
Maybe we'll be able to see a easy 5ghz achieveable clock speed? :)
