No internet connection and no available network adapters in new windows 10 install

Hi im having an issue with wifi and network adapters not working on my new windows 10 install, help would be appreciated, thanks.

Check device manager to see if you actually have an NIC recognized, if not then your options are limited.

No

 

A weird thing happened where when I was given what wifi to connect to in the windows set up, no wifi showed up which I found concerning.

no it's not.. 

you just havn't installed Chipset drivers, NIC drivers OR WIFI (if you have WIFI on the board ) drivers. 

and disk controller drivers. maybe sound and GPU too.. 

 

download the chipset and nic (wifi if that's what your going to use)  drivers on another pc and transfer them with a usb stick. (install chipset drivers first as anything else will need those drivers first)

then you have net and can download the rest. 

this is standard for a windows 10 install on newer hardware if the install usb hasn't been updated in a while. 

 

download all the drivers you find under support for your mainboard at the vendor page and execute the files until no exclamation marks are left in your device manager.
