NSA has been tampering with US-made routers

Ashley

http://www.theguardian.com/books/2014/may/12/glenn-greenwald-nsa-tampers-us-internet-routers-snowden

For years the US government has warned manufacturers to stay away from Chinese made routers. And rightly so, China spies on their citizens.

However, after getting companies to switch away from untrustworthy Chinese routers the NSA then implemented a regimen of intercepting routers before they are exported to international customers and install backdoor surveillance tools before repackaging the router.

These hacked routers then "phone home" to the NSA. This allows the NSA to exploit and surveil networks these devices are easier.

That's it i'm making my own router.

These were routers being exported to other nations. Although I wouldn't say US-made, US-purchased routers are safe. At the same time your NIC you use to make the router could have NSA hackware as well.

I apologize if this is a repost. If you have "seen this before" and it was awhile ago I wouldn't be surprised given that the NSA has a ubiquitous presence on the Internet and hardware.

What routers are there that isn't filled with NSA faggotry? You know, for those of us who are lazy/don't feel like making our own.

First off I would ask you not to use demeaning words like "faggotry".

Second, it's any routers made in the US that have been exported to other nations. But to be honest if your packets touch a WAN they are in the NSA's purview.

I looked up faggotry and it sent me to this link for some reason...?

Scuse you, best friend and some other friends of mine are gay and call me homo and crap all the time and vice vera - no one cares or is offended. People who cry "I'm offended" when something isn't ever addressed to them/or isn't even all that offensive are the worst.

@beebskadoo is a p. nice fabulous man. :3
