Hello All!

I want some second opinions on this. I have a Ryzen 9 5900x and a Noctua NH-D15. I was running a stability Cinebench run on it and noticed that the temperatures across each core have a 15+ degree C difference between each core. Running stock options in BIOS so not overclocked. Could this be due to mounting pressure or poor thermal paste application?

Not all cores are equal, some are better than others in terms of thermals and performance.  80c max is pretty good temperature in my opinion during a cinibench run on the 5900x. I see no problems here.

I'd consider any time hwinfo is not marking things in the red as being pretty good.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

Oh and if you have watched some LTT videos where they try weird cooling solutions and thermal throttle, can you often see Linus pointing towards lets say: Core 1, Core 3 and 4 that are throttling and the other ones are not.  most extreme overclockers will also figure out that maybe core 3 and core 9 are the strongest and will run a higher OC on those particular cores because they have better thermals / less crashing. Because again, not all cores are equal ( even on the same CPU ) Having different temps on the cores is normal 🙂 Just wanted to write this as well.
