No VSync with no screen tearing possible?

If you had NVIDIA card you could use FastSync which relies on having more FPS than your monitor Hz.

I don't think AMD had an alternative.

Besides buying a monitor with VRR

Hi everyone,

So I'm just wondering if it's possible to disable VSync and have no screen tearing at the same time. In games when I enable VSync, it will restrict the FPS to my screen refresh rate which is 60Hz. When I disable it I get higher FPS but screen tearing. Is there any way to have that max FPS possible but have no screen tearing at the same?

I'm gaming on the TV, which is a 4K Samsung Q60B, it does not have any AMD FreeSync/VRR support to my knowledge which is a shame.

Any help and suggestions will be appreciated. Kind regards.

My system;

Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 3.6GHz

RAM: Corsair 2x16GB 3200MHz Vengeance LPX DDR4

GPU: Asus Dual RX 6650XT OC

PSU: Corsair CV550 550w

OS: Windows 11 Pro

Case: NZXT H5 Flow

No, you can't have more FPS and not have screen tearing. Unless you don't care about your monitor and really want more FPS then you can disable V-Sync, but I wouldn't recommend it...

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Maybe Restart it?
